Steel wheel rim straightening

Post by pitmantouring »

Hi - has anyone found anyone in UK (ideally in the North West) who has heavy duty hydraulic equipment to straighten minor eccentricity in the rim of std 14" Morris Minor wheels? Alloy wheel repairers are aplenty but none seem to have the tackle to handle the additional forces reqd. to re-align steel wheels before balancing/painting. Cheers...

Standard Minor wheels are ten a penny and very easy to find. I'm sure the best option would be to look for replacements rather than trying to straighten the ones you have. If you amend your personal details to include your location I'm sure someone on here will be willing to give you some or, at the very least, charge a small amount. :-)

I agree - throw them away! There are plenty of FREE ones around. Have to ask though - how did it/they get bent??

The problem also occurs on Series MM wheels which are definitely not ten a penny
