I have a 12 G 295 head which I intend to put on my Minor. Does anybody know if I need different valves also do all seats need changing or is it just exhaust.
It will also need skimming to get C/R something like, does 60 thou. sound about right.

Do you mean the head you have doesn't have valves?
If so then you will have to contact somewhere that deals with mini tuning because the valves sizes are diferent to the standard 1098 head. I have also heard that they are hard to come by now :(

A 60 thou skim should be about right to restore the engine to standard compression.
Persevere though. I can assure you that a 12G295 head and carb/manifold change is well worth the effort.

No Peetee, I didn,t explain myself very well. What I meant to say was when you convert to unleaded do you have to change the valves to take unleaded as well as the valve seats, and do you have to change all valve seats or just exhaust.

Iv,e already got 1 3/4" HIS carb on water heated manifold. Also the exhaust manifold from a post "P" reg Mini ala Owen Burton.
Do you have any ideas on a different exhaust?

Hello Wanderingstar,
all the work is concentrated on the exhaust, new valves seats and also it is benefitial to fit bronze valve guides throghout.

Hello Ian,
sorry I didn't make myself very clear, usually the exhaust valves are replaced with modern Stainless Steel ones, you may already have those, it depends when they were last replaced.
