I'm now about to replace the outer sill. Should this extend beyond the B post, with the base rail notched around the outer sill, as on my photo, or has someone in the past made an unorthodox "adjustment". I was expecting the outer sill to be flush with the rear face of the B post. Unfortunately I can't get to the other side of the car to see what happended there!

OK - I'm answering myself! I decided to get ruthless with the wood and found the outer sill doesn't project as far as I thought - I hadn't appreciated that the back of the B post was profiled.
