Just wondered if anyone had any comments on using one of these?I'm restoring a MK1 Golf GTI and want to derust the rear beam and suspension components.I have the usual angle grinder wire brush and flap wheels etc but they won't get in the nooks and crannies. My main concern is noise(I have a powerful compressor) but live next door to Mr Grumpy who likes writing letters to the Town Hall.

Quiet...they are not !! Ear plugs and defenders to be worn.I used one at a Night School course many years ago.My ears were still ringing the following day.
Great for large, flat.heavy gauge metal......not so effective on metal that has lots of " small nooks and crannies ".
If the metal is very thin, it will effectively punch straight through.
Sand blasting / chemical treatment alternatives ( if correctly used ) would produce a better result.
I did most of the easy stuff with a angle grinder and powerfile and sent a bucket full of suspension bits off to the
sand blasters.

Excellent bit of kit - not for bodywork of course, but fine for what you plan. Do the job at 2am when Grumpy is asleep...then he won't hear you!
