Painting the gearbox?

Undertaking my resto (see thread here)

Engine and box been pulled out, engine is getting the green treatment, what about the gearbox?
Black hammerite? Any suggestions!

it was left unpainted, but silver hammerite would work if you wanted - or gold seal

So it won't rust if I don't paint it? I could just clean it?

Amazing! That makes perfect sense. Can we build the whole morris out of this stuff. I hate rust.

If you do decide to paint it most MM suppliers sell green engine paint. I believe Land Rover Bronze Green is quite a good match.

I used aluma blast on mine, it looks great and is much easier to keep clean than the bare aluminum.

Paint it gold - immediately doubles it's worth....
