MOT

£300 squid later and my Moggy Traveller passed its MOT with no advisories.
Expensive! but well worth the money due to the serious problems they found as follows:-

Brakes Failures: RBT Service Brake Efficiency: 29%, RBT Brake Imbalance: 100% and 100%
003 Offside Steering Rack gaiter split.
Offside front brake recording little or no effort.

Thankfully I have a mechanic who knows Moggy's inside out and has all the parts at hand, he actually specialises with the old Citroen 2CV's and did a first class job on my repairs getting it through the test a second time.

Brakes are now shaper than ever (for a Moggy). However he did point out that compared to modern cars braking systems in Moggy's are very primitive.

Enjoy the Sun!!

Congratulations on the pass. :) Offside front brake not working does indeed sound pretty serious. :o

Hi,
Glad it's all fixed and you have a fresh MOT but surprised you didn't notice the car pulling to one side when you braked, if one side was completely ineffective??
Good job you didn't need to do an emergency stop!
Highlights why all cars, of whatever age, need this yearly check!
Best wishes,
Mike.

Thanks Mike and Chipper
Come to think of it the car was pulling like you said.
All ok now but phew!!!! yes glad of the inspection, going to invest in a complete new brake set this summer.
