Bought two of them now, one red and one black. Both advertised as " Morris minor." Neither of the buggers fit.....too tight. :o

I have came across the same problem within the last month. I fitted a red one to a friends minor and it was a really tight fit, but it did go on without any modification. I fitted a red one to my minor on Tuesday (as the Lucas boxed black one which was only 3 years old failed), it was a bit tighter than the old one but it wasn't to bad !! The red rotors seem to be the most reliable at the moment.

Hmmm.....I didn't want to try to force one on. Thought I must just have bought the wrong size (twice). Lol.

Try putting it in very hot water for a few minutes before trying to put it on. That should expand it enough to make it slide on easier.

And it will fail in no time at all. Inspect the red one - and if 'nearly' correct just carefully file it till it fits snuggly. Loose is useless....it must be snug, but not so tight it needs 'heating' or force - that will only crack it!

Never had a rotor fail on me before. What happens......does it physically break apart? Better carry a spare.

Mine failed not too long ago; not a clue externally so it took quite some time to diagnose the problem.
When it was removed you could notice it was a bit brown on the inside but nothing more, yet all the sparks were earthing through the distributor shaft. I fit a red one and they are indeed a much tighter fit.
