Rear Lights

Has anyone ever come across any rear lights that include rear fog and reversing lights, that will fit Minor rear wings. The nearest ive heard of so far are from a Beetle, but they dont have the fog light. They are also quite large apparently. I just want all lights in one unit if possible.

Anyone got any ideas.
Ian.

I would guess that yes, a beetle would probably be your best bet; I can't really think of anything else with a similarly curved rear wing that's modern enough to have reversing lights. To include fog *and* reversing lights they're going to have to be pretty big!

Is a light slung under the car not suited to your needs; that's the more common solution (and the one I'm intending to apply!).

Kate, I just thought it would look neater if I could get them in one unit [and the VW ones only cost £22 each] My original lights are badly pitted. I suppose I could have colour matched lights instead of "colour matched bumpers".

Multiphonikks, it doesn,t look original now. With full set of Honda seats and LPG filler point above petrol filler.

... Ah!

Well, in that case, I think beetle lights may be the option. I'd considered them for Hebe but still not made my mind up completely!

If the VW ones aren't chromed I think it's possible to get them chromed... but don't quote me on that :)

Let us know how it goes!

You might find that you have to do some serious modification to the wing/lights to get them to seat properly... What about modifying the bumper assebly to fit two fog lights next to the overriders and one reversing light in the centre...? Could be a neater solution, although it may well work out more expensive than £44... :-?

If you have the pre '63 lights and additional indicators to supplement or replace the trafficators it would look quite good to add rear lenses in the same style as the indicators. Use a front sidelight lense with uprated bulb for the reversing light and a rear stop light lense with uprated bulb for the fog light.

I have finally got round to sorting Beetle lights out.

They will fit with a slight amount of modification to the inside edge of light body.its only sheet metal not casting like Moggy.

The main part of lamp is painted, with a chrome ring round lens. Painted same colour as car should look quite well.

So does that mean you're going to put them on?

Could you let me know how you get on with it? - and are you going to chrome it? - or at least paint it a chromium colour?
