my old radiator finally died after living on a diet of neat radweld for a couple of years, but when i got a replacement from bull motif, the metal attachment for the bottom heater hose had too coarse a thread to fit the new rad. the guy at bull motif explained that it now required a different type of hose, RAD 109 i think was the part number, and mentioned that i wasn;t the first to phone up with this query after buying a new radiator. in which case i thought he might have mentioned it when i was ordering.
happily, i have a very good welder/repair factory nearby, and they're making me up an attachment with a thread that will fit. but just thought i'd mention it for anyone buying one in future and finding they need a different hose as well as the rad.

Where are you going to fit it on the new rad - does it have a take-off point? Later cars just return the heater water directly to the water pump inlet - via a branch on the bottom hose - which probably makes for better heater circulation too! I'm guessing Dennis refers to the 4 mounting screws - two each side.

Does anyone fit new cores to old radiators so that you retain the original top, bottom and sides?

Speaking of radiators,my radiator grille is looking tatty,and overdue for a little tlc.
How do you remove it from the front panel?
Someone said you can do it with out taking the rad out,by tilting it back,but I think I will drain it,and have some fresh
antifreeze.
