Spax Shock Absorbers

Anyone would think i was modifying my car with all of these questions recently 
I have a front set of spax shock absorbers i bought lightly used!!! They have all the relevant fitting brackets and bolts etc just no instructions for fitting. I have them mounted to the bottom arm and am trying to work out where i weld the top bracket to set the correct height. Do i set the bracket so the suspension is at the very bottom(ie sat on the rubber) or do i need to set it slightly higher? Any advice as always greatly appreciated.
