Quarter-lights

Hi,
I've just been going through my spares, sorting out what I don't need (not a lot but these will be in front of my car at the National FOC to anyone that needs them) and I have rediscovered my spare door glass and quarter-lights. Always handy should some scumbag try a smash and grab but my spare quarter-lights are missing their catches.
Are the catches available and if so how are they fixed?
All I have left on them are the holes (two on each) where they would have mounted, which appear to have been prized outward, like someone has deliberately taken them off. I can flatten the metal, so just need replacement catches. The quarter-lights are of the stainless variety by the way.
Also is the rubber seal that the glass in the quarter-light sits in available?
I'm just thinking ahead, in case refitting the catches requires me to remove the glass, which I suspect it will.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Hi Mike, I raised a similar question last year. Hope this helps.

Hi Mike, yes, the catches can be refitted and yes, it does involve removing the glass.

Everything is available from the suppliers but you might need to buy the catches from one place, the pins from another and the rubber from yet another. Installation is just fitting everything and then hitting the head of the pin with a chisel.

NOTE: I just re-read your question and it appears you're also missing the little riveted plate where the pin for the catch is attached. I have not seen this part available anywhere and I'm not sure if having it made would make sense.

This is the state of my 'catchless' quarter-lights, I may be able to make up the plate you mention, I will take a look at the ones fitted on my car.
Which will just leave me looking for the catches themselves...............

Parts are VNT108, VNT109 and VNT110 x 2 and the rubber for the glass is VNT111.

I did mine minus the plate, patience and WD-40 will be needed to remove the glass, and then patience and soapy water to put it back again with the new rubber.

try and retain the orginal rubber for the glass as it is moulded for the catch part
the rubber you buy new Is just a parallel strip
