hello,
I am hoping someone can help me, I have a Morris minor saloon and everything on it is original. last night someone broke in to my car, luckily I scared them off before they could take anything or the car and I was wondering if anyone has found away to fit new up to date door locks or fitted an alarm system to their car?
unfortunately I am on a very tight budget and I don't have hundreds of pounds to spend on an alarm system.
any suggestions would be very appreciated.
thanks in advance

Re: door locks
Fit extra interior light switches to the doors and wire them to a horn with a key isolating switch let in to the door pillar, you can also fit micro switches in the boot and bonnet all on the same circuit. Seemple***

Re: door locks
You must urgently fit a 'secret switch' to cut off the power to the fuel pump. This means a thief can start the engine - and sets off and after 50/100 yds the car splutters to a halt and he has no idea why.... Hopefully he then runs away - the car having been moved and obviously tampered with. He is very unlikely to start 'repairing' a car that he has moved a short distance away from it's owner!! Modern locks (even if possible) won't stop anyone wanting in to a Minor. Many folks swear by fitting a 'disclok' to the steering wheel - very obvious to anyone tempted by your car - and hopefully enough to make them walk on to find an easier target. Top tip of course - never leave anything valuable or tempting on show inside the car. A few 'alarm' stickers in the windows are cheap and cheerful and may be enough to make them walk on.
