can any one tell why my traveller wont go in gear when the engine is switched on but when its of it goes in gear

Clutch most suspect. Try adjusting...

Select 2nd then 1st

I had this some time ago turned out to be the bush in the flywheel was worn as you say it was fine with engine stopped but no good when running I can only assume when running it would not allow the clutch to slide on the splines
