To attend to the flaking shiny wood covering on our Traveller, I intend to scrape all the wood and use the microporous route as the preferred coating process.

I recall reading, but do not remember where I read it, that the removal of the doors helps this process and that the article indictaed that it would mean grinding/ sawing the existing bolts and replacing with zinc plated ones? Please correct me if I am wrong or point me in the direction of the article to refresh my memory.

May I ask what size and length these bolts are and if any of the Minor supply chain offer these as a complete kit, such as bolts/nuts and washers as required?

Can't really see the advantage in having the doors off to rub the wood down.I managed to do mine without a problem.

Having done it - I did take the doors off. The nuts simply unscrewed.......why would they not ? If you do fit new bolts, by all means go for zinc plated - but it's certainly not obligatory! Note that all 4 hinge assemblies are unique - so keep the two parts of each together in a plastic bag - and mark where they came from! I lifted my doors slightly by fitting a flexible plastic washer under each ball - to take up the wear.
