Hi, I would like t
o get my mm back to it's original colour.I got a certificate from the Historic Vehicle Club which told me my car was originally Thames Blue. The problem is that the car has obviously been re-sprayed before I bought it in a colour very close to Thames Blue but the engine bay and inside the boot where I don't think the re-sprayer would bother with is in green which looks like Empire Green. How can these areas be in a different colour from the colour on the outside?Surely the car would not be painted originally in a different colour in these areas? Please advise.

I don't think 'Thames Blue' was ever a standard Minor colour....(but I'm no expert on details like this..) ..and no - the car would be all-over same colour.... The inside panel colour is more likely to be correct original. Dunno about 'Historic Car Club' ??? The best source for info would be from Gaydon who will have the original build records for your car... http://www.heritage-motor-centre.co.uk/

Remove the rear seat and see what colour it is there.Unless its had a total repaint that should still be the original colour.

From looking at your previous posts you have a '51 Series MM. Thames blue was a standard colour during '51 but empire green was not used until July '52. The only green used during '51 was mist green, which is quite a bit lighter than empire green.
