Fuel Gage Reading

Hi Everyone, The fuel gage on my Traveller only reads 3/4 full when I have filled the fuel tank. Anyone know how I can get the gage to read full? Perhaps I need a new Sender unit. Andy

Does it have a gold speedo? These are adjustable.
Black speedos are not adjustable, you can 'adjust' the sender by bending the float arm, it may be worth a shot before investing in a new sender (which the suppliers advise you do anyway!).

Many thanks. Mine is a black speedo , so will have a look at the sender and try bending. Andy

I'd recommend a new cork gasket too, sealed with petrolproof (preferably not resistant) sealant.
I fitted a new sender to mine, it reads empty when there's still another £15-20 left in it, quite a useful feature!

Many thanks. Will certainly fit a new cork gasket. What petrol proof sealant do you use? Andy

The ' 10 volt ' regulated supply to the gauge may be a bit low......can you check it with a DC analogue voltmeter ?

I'm not sure how to do it with a DC analogue volt metre. It sounds a bit complicated. I have a volt metre. Can

you explain how to do it? Many thanks. Andy
