Rear spring locating pin locking nut
I'm finally getting round to putting the car back on her wheels, but I need new nuts to go on the rear spring locating pins-I've seen them on the Moss website but don't want to open an a/c with them-is there an alternative supplier or a nylock that can fit? I think its a Whitworth thread.

The original pins Pt No: AAA1407 had BSF threads but there is a move to supplying pins with UNF threads these days.
Unless you are able to identify the threads you have you could have to fit nuts 3/8" BSF Pt No: AJD81062 or nuts 3/8" UNF Pt No: GHF202 or you could have a mixture of both.
A good old fashioned car spares shop should have both 3/8" BSF and 3/8" UNF both in ordinary or nylock. There must be one near you.
As regards MOSS I have had parts from them by ordering on line and never had to open an account just supply your 'e' mail address and a password. Just pay by plastic the details are secure. Just follow the online purchase details ever so simple to do.
If you have no luck locally try Spalding Fasteners https://www.spaldingfasteners.co.uk They have both 3/8" BSF and 3/8" UNF both in ordinary and nylock. I have used them several times and I can recommend them and their good customer service.

Hi,take the pins along to your local engineers merchant, they will have some off the shelf.

Re: Rear spring locating pin locking nut
I've tried the original nuts on the new pins and they fit fine, I'll try the Moss site again-I think I will check the Net for some local engineers/suppliers in case I need some more strange old fixings. Cheers for the information gents

Make sure any fixings you buy on 'the net' are to a suitable quality standard, and not just made from 'the tins john West reject'....

Esm should be able to help, you'll have to pay postage but they will be with you the following day.
