Chassis rail front replacement parts

Hello fellow Morryist

I have discovered cracks in the chassis around the eyebolt. On close inspection, it turns out that the crush tube has broken loose from the internal mounts.

So... it looks like I am replacing the front leg section. :-? :x

ESM lists two alternatives for this replacement part. One seems to be Hadrian-made and the other made from Hadrian tooling with quality steel of the correct thickness.

One is 6" longer than the other (I don't need the extra length).

By taking turns at putting them in my shopping cart, it looks like the shorter one is heavier.

One costs a whopping 30 pounds more than the other :o.

Has anyone had experience with either of these alternatives?

If yes, I would be grateful if you would report on your experience.

Cheers
Don

I think one is for the van/pickup and the other for saloon/traveller....
Van version has a top cover plate and the saloon version does not (?).
Van panels usually start with RPV on the ESM website.

Here are the part numbers

RPV128
RP114L

M25VAN -- Thanks-- you are right! Odd that ESM doesn't seem to indicate that one is a van part (unless of course you know the V in the part number means van). I did a search for van parts and the RPV128 came up. That explains why the shorter one is heavier--it is enclosed on the top (and maybe thicker metal too).

Thanks for your help.

Don

Yeah, I only found out when I couldn't find rear arches in the relevant category listing. ESM keywords for van panels used to be a bit vague.
Try a search for "van panels" then try a search for "rpv" where rear arches show up. :)
