When I bought my mm she had(and still has) Lucas spotlights bolted through the valance.I have been thinking about removing them and filling in the holes, but I would like to know how old these lamps might be?If they are a modern addition, they are going as I want to get old Mary as original as possible, but if the lamps are period, they will stay. How can I tell how old they are?

Many different styles of Lucas lamp - a photo would help to identify them.

The round type were usually the classic SFT/SLR576, as fitted to many '60s classics. If in good condition, they are worth a pretty penny.

MM may be a generic term for any Morris Minor as opposed to Series MM which is specific to the side valve model

They could have been fitted by a previous owner as new when they came on the market, so could be classed as a legitimate upgrade of the time, not sure spot or foglamps were around much for the time the car was new
