Ignition
Thinking of doing away with dizzy' and fitting electronic ignition set-up. I know that this will have had many discussions about it in the past, but being a relative newbie' to the forum I would like to hear of any opinions ( especially from members who have switched over ). My brother in law fitted an electronic ignition to his 1980 Maxi and swears by them.

Re: Ignition
You have to keep the dizzy, just replace the points with unit, best thing I ever did
Re: Ignition
Megajolt is what you want - if doing away with the dizzy. Mini lads swear by it - you can set up a complete map of the ignition timing to optimise everything. It;s a bit of work -and you need to be handy with a soldering iron. Do a write-up on it for us and tell us how it goes!

Re: Ignition
Best passion wagon ever built, it has a double bed which folds up into seats if you ever have the misfortune to have to drive it.

Re: Ignition
The Maxi was a fine machine! Never owned one - but have had several long comfortable journeys in them.
