RAC Membership & MMOC

It is renewal time for me to the RAC.
I phoned them up for renewal as I haven't had anything from them. I was quoted £118.99 including MMOC discount and I did ask, twice. But when checking online I got the same quotation and no mention of MMOC discount. My wife also phoned up as a new member and got the same quote and again MMOC membership was not mentioned.
Is there a magic incantation you need to say to them to get a discount or is it just non existent and a marketing stunt from the RAC and the club?

Did you quote the MMOC scheme code? This is shown within the 'Club Services' section on page 2 of Minor Matters. If you quoted this code and still have a problem please contact Liz Saxon at the club office (contact details on page 2).

Your post got me thinking! Take's a lot to do that!!
So I phoned the RAC to find out a few things more about my membership, having been a member since 1992, and having used both their "get you home" on at least two occasions ( long distance, I might add) and their Legal Service. Both were excellent and efficient; the latter one including them bearing all costs of appointing a very reputable advocate and a High Court Case in Edinburgh ( well, up to two minutes beforehand!!)
Anyway, it transpires that I'm a wee bit more than you ( about £3.00p!) and I have Roadside assistance & Recovery, Get you Home and Homestart for my wife and I. However, it seems that I have a wee discount for being with my ex-employers ( local government as a teacher), and you can only have one discount on your membership. Therefore MMOC membership counts for nothing in my case!!
It's like so many of these special offers and priveleges whereby it " cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer!". Bit of a swizz if you ask me!!!

Your classic car insurance usually includes Roadside and Recovery - at least the reputable ones do...... Check with your insurer! You may not need RAC cover - at least not for your classic. For my 'modern' I just use Green Flag basic cover at v modest cost - since we never really wander far from home......

I sadly have to swap every year between aa and rac... they give you a years offer and then after the year put it up nearly 50 percent then I contact the other organisation and they have the introductory offer so a swap and go with them for twelve months, ive done this for 5 years so far!

The RAC were adamant that my quote included MMOC discount still so I tried the AA got a cheaper introductory offer and then went back to the RAC who then promptly beat the AA offer. It's crazy.

I did go back to them with the code but no result other than the quote supplied included MMOC discount until I told them I had a cheaper offer at the AA.
I have been a member of the RAC for some years on the back of the MMOC offer so unsure why it is no longer provided.
