Hi

My truck is currently in a mechanically induced coma and I need some advice/help/indication of cost.

Her A-Pillar/Door Hinge Pillars are non existent at the bottom. Has anyone had these replaced? How painful to the wallet is such a job? Has anyone used the Morris Minor restoration chap at Witchford in Ely? Or is anyone local to the King's Lynn, Norfolk area with the ability to do this in exchange for payment?

As you will all appreciate this is a heart/head decision, my heart says yes as I have come a long way in getting her back on the road (as the pictures will hopefully show), my head says how much!

Thanks in advance for any help/tips/etc you may have

Going by your post it seems that welding is not something you can/are willing to do yourself. On that basis it would be prudent to have a really thorough check for rot elsewhere before you make any decision.

If the 'A' post bottoms (s) have gone then the adjacent sill panels and floorpan will need some repair or replacement, which if you are paying for it can prove expensive.

Most garages can patch a floorpan or chassis leg but will probably baulk at 'A' post and sill repairs unless they are a specialist in vehicle body restoration (not necessarily Minors).

Sorry I can't recommend anywhere but I'm not in your area. Lastly be sure to get a quote that includes a worst case figure otherwise you could end up with the car stripped out with a 'new' cost many times higher than that to simply plate the 'A' post.

Apologies if I have stated the obvious and good luck.

Is there really nothing left of the A pillars? Trouble is the new panels are poorly made.
Your restorer will be far better off saving , for example the top of the hinge pillars, replacing only the rotten
Bottom half if this is the case.

May we have photos of the areas please??
