I have to park my Traveller regularly in a tight spot next to a brick wall, and want to avoid the bottom and side of the driver's door losing chunks of paint when the door accidentally hits the brickwork.
What dimensions of rubber U-section trim should I buy to fit to the bottom and side edge of the door which will still allow it to close but also protect the edges? Would the same stuff which works to trim a Mini's wheel arch be ok?

Nail a piece of carpet to the wall

Now that's clever!
Is that lateral thinking or thinking out of the box!?
So obvious when someone suggests it!

I agree - pad the wall somehow.....or park the other way round so the door opens away from the wall.......

Hi,
When I used to own an XJ6 I found my garage a little tight on length, so I fixed a couple of old Mini tyres to the back wall and never worried about it again!
I also fixed old rubber car mats to the side walls to save the doors.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Another one would be a camping or exercise mat. Firm but still squidgy enough.
It worked well to pad a dash on my kit car, which I had to put through VOSA IVA test.
I would not put anything on the door personally.

Putting something on the wall could be a bit tricky if its a third party wall (meaning not owned by you or say your employer) you could be liable for causing damage. Same could be said about a dividing wall between two domestic property's the wall maybe on the other property's build line thus again Liable for damage. Good Idea thou, Halfords sell clear door protector on a roll. Have used it before on my old pick up (Photo) I just put it along the leading edge of the door and it work well.

Thanks for the Halfords tip. I did notice they stock a roll of clear trim but wondered if black would look better.
Parking the other way round doesn't help - wall other side too!
