There's bonus points for anyone recognising the pop reference.
Anyway, Lily is now trying to ensure she has all clanking and banging noises covered by adding a new one to her previous repertoire. In second and third near the "top" of the revs in those gears I'm getting a grinding whiney noise as I accelerate.
It goes when you change up, and doesn't seem to happen in 4th, though I've not gone past 50 since hearing the noise, so maybe it will. The noise seems to go when the clutch is down, but seems to be there if you rev in neutral too. This may be an odd observation but it sounds like a "lighter" metal - something a bit more hollow if that makes any sense at all.
Any thoughts from my vague descriptions? Thanks as always

Re: Whine and Grind
Start by making sure there is oil in the gearbox, 4th is the last to show symptoms

Sure it's not the big ends rattling....what oil pressure when hot engine at 40 mph in top gear?
