Has anyone any advice and if possible,any photographs of the bottom of the b posts and the woodagainst it. I am having a lot of difficulty in getting the b post repair panels to be correctly lined up with the timber.
I am fitting brand new timber sides to my car,but I am finding it difficult to have the repair panels and the new timber fastened to the b posts with their fixings, to be lined up correctly.I am assuming the timber should fit ,behind but also slightly lower than the bottom of the b posts.I am obviously worried each time I try the timber up to the body. Help please !

If you have the bottom repair panel for the b post, it is quite probable that it is about 10mm wider than the bottom of the b post itself. Have you verified that the profile of this panel matches your b post?

I am not 100% sure which part of the panel you mean,the panel fits fairly well but my concern is the panel should project just past the outside edge of the timber side panel.Does that make any sense? I feel that by projecting out further than the end of the wooden side section the wood end is not open to the elements.
I couldn't see with original wood as the lower horizontal piece was missing from both sides.

If you take a look at this Traveller currently on Ebay there is a good picture of the lower section of the wood step shown. If you use the zoom it should give you a good close up.

I have looked and I can't zoom in,but what I have seen is what appears to be a sill finisher and again I have nothing that is original to compare to,so I am working blind.I think I will try the local club,and see if there is a member who has a completed traveller for me to look at.I live in Holmfirth and there is a branch about 12 or so miles from me.If anyone could post a photograph showing the wood and b post area close up,maybe from the front and the rear,just anything so I can see what I am aiming for.Thanks again,Roger

I found the bought repair section to be a very poor fit and needed a lot of modifying to get to the shape required. On the other side I used a 2 door saloon repair section that I had along with the bought one cut down and found this to be a better and more original looking repair I made a wooden template from plywood and bolted it to the b post to make sure the repair went in flush.
