another easy one
I have the generator in, but there is a pretty big gap between the generator and the bracket. I have the piece is used to tighten the belt by raising/lowering the generator, but even when that is bolted on, there is a good sized gap between it and the bracket on the engine. Is there supposed to be a gap there? or am I missing something?[frame]

mine is mounted the same way, but if I move it back, so that it fits with the bracket on the bottom, then the pulley doesn't line up with the belt at all. Maybe I have the wrong generator?
Re: another easy one
If you have the sliding bracket 12H67 , the plate with a long cut out slot, that fits on the bottom of the dynamo, then what you are missing is a Dynamo Adjusting pillar (Part No FIX123 from ESM ).
This will "bridge" the gap you have.
ESM's website is http://www.morrisminorspares.co.uk , fill in FIX123 in the search for a picture.

As above - you need the spacer/pillar. You can 'make do' short term with a couple of nuts + washers and a long bolt + nut.
