the description tells you..

"Modified Master Cylinder for the disc brake conversion. Includes modified top and end caps."

i would speak to jono directly he is friendly and helpful and he will answer your questions because what i am saying are assumptions / best guess which is not good / dangerous thing to do with brakes

modified top
when fitting discs it is common to fit a remote reservoir which is higher than the master cylinder, the standard top has a small hole which needs to be blocked or brake fluid will leak over your carpet.

end cap
there is a seal in the master cylinder which maintains a slight pressure which will cause the discs to bind on so it needs to be removed.

( not wishing to sound like a broken record )
these are of course my assumptions / best guess, and you should talk to jono

As above - if you have disc brakes - that's the master cyl you need. Most people when fitting discs find they need a servo to keep the pedal pressure down, and a remote servo because as pads wear - the pistons move out and take up fluid. It all adds to the cost!

Thanks for replies. I asked because ESM do a similar Ford based kit as per JLH but with no mention of an updated master cylinder?

John,

If you plan to fit disc brakes of any description to a Minor, you must remove the 'residual pressure valve' at the bottom of the master cylinder, otherwise the pads will be in permanent contact with the discs and create a lot of heat and wear quickly.

The second modification depends on whether you fit a remote fluid reservoir - if you do then it will come with the replacement top filler cap.

The third modification depends on whether you plan to fit a servo - if you do then the feed to the rear brakes will come from the front and the master cylinder rear cap will need to be a solid one to replace the standard one.

^And each of those three modifications is, presumably, included in JLH's master cylinder. But if you already have a master cylinder and it's in good nick, it's not too difficult to modify it yourself -- just time-consuming, mostly.
