Wood in Winter

Hi
Is is normal for the wood to go darker in the winter than in summer?
There is no sign of rot as its well sealed, however the colour looks slightly darker and richer than it was in June/July/Aug.

Tends to go darker with age. Could it be that it's getting damp? Even with no rot, wet wood will be darker than dry. Ideally you want to keep it dry, but as long as it can breath, then it should be OK.

Well sealed is easier said than done on a Traveller, more lightly to seal in any water that gets in via the joints and drain holes.

Yes I have noticed that near the joining areas. I will just get it through winter and assess what to do with it over the summer months.

If it has been varnished - and is now exposed to wet weather - the water will have got in behind and is doing it's evil work... A Trav needs to be kept dry - expose it to winter weather at risk!

Yes but easier said than done in the UK
not exactly the Bahamas
I do keep it covered at night.
Mine is also a daily use car, however I had a good look at the wood today and it seems ok, I compared it to pictures I took in the summer and there hasn't been any damage but I will keep an eye on the joining areas.
