Lead by example , so are they buying cars to scrap or what,,,,
still a MOD WILL be along shortly to set the record straight,to tell us the body was beyond repair

It does say roadworthy I thought preservation of the minor was first and foremost

I suspect that the parts advertised have been removed from a roadworthy MM and replaced with more modern upgrades. It does not say the car has been scrapped!!

The car is rare already and even the steering wheel is for sale .I presume the car is owned by the MMOC as its advertised under there spares for sale surely they wouldn't break a car would they

The parts may have been donated to the MMOC as surplus to requirements. Who knows, a moderator will tell us soon no doubt.

I don't know why people think the mods are able to answer all club queries. We're just normal club members same as everyone else - we don't have all knowing & all seeing special powers I don't know any more than you do but probably best not to make assumptions without getting the facts first. Sparesman is the best person to contact regarding club spares queries if anyone wants to drop him a pm to clarify the matter (I would do it myself but have lots of other messageboard related stuff to deal with at the moment).

The Morris Minor community break cars thinking they are all loaded with new old stock bits.

There's a few threads on here where the vultures go straight in for bits readily available from suppliers.

Shame really as the club to my knowledge has never gone on record not condoning it.

If not already done I have sent a PM to sparesman asking if he can enlarge on the Club Spares advert in the Jan/Feb 14 Minor Matters and post an answer on this thread.

I have now made contact with sparesman and hopefully he will reply to the concerns raised above.

Phil has just told me about this thread. There is no need to get alarmed. We are not breaking good restorable cars. All these parts came from an MM that the owner wanted to fit A Series mechanics to.I have been offered parts in similar circumstances at least 3 times in 2013 and there is an engine and gearbox currently for sale on ebay that also seems to be from a running MM.
I myself returned a 52 MM to the road last year after 37 years in storage.Even with minimal welding needed full restoration of such a car would never be a financially viable project for someone wanting to make money out of it. Hence the number of MMs that have sold on ebay last year that probably ended up being broken for spares.

The club does a lot to encourage the restoration of early cars and I spend a lot of time helping members locate parts to keep their MMs original. We are even hoping to shortly announce a club project to restore a lowlight MM and if that goes ahead we will be looking for help and original parts to complete the restoration. All volunteers please form an orderly queue outside the Club Spares tent at Kelmarsh !!!

quit frankly im not happy with this club altogether I live 10 miles from johnogroats in Scotland and a few times I have been looking for parts and contacted the club for parts I am a club member or was as I am due to renew my member ship this month which I wont be doing as everytime I am looking for a part and contact the club I get told we don't have it on more than one occasion no offence to the forum members etc just thought it funny every time I ask for a part to buy we haven't got it when the parts needed were clearly advertised on club not very nice thanks

The problem is that Club spares mainly offers parts for earlier Minors, which are in demand due to their rarity, so once advertised in the club magazine are likely to sell quite quickly. Living in the Highlands probably means that you receive the magazine a day or two later than most, which doesn't help. If you are looking for parts which are not available from the usual Minor traders it might be worth posting 'wanted' ads on the forum as someone might have what you're looking for. Plus send a list to Bryan Gostling so that he can let you know when they come back in stock at club spares.

Earlier today a forum user in Scotland posted in this thread claiming he had been unable to buy from club spares on several occasions.He said he was told the spares had been sold even when he got someone else to enquire later and be told they were in fact still for sale?????????He implied that he thought the reason clubspares didnt want to sell to him was his location(Scotland as I recall).I just came on to read any follow ups to this to find his two posts had disappeared!!!!!I know I'm getting on a bit but I didnt dream it.Could someone please try to explain whats going on?If a mod has moved his posts to another section which one?If they have been deleted whats the reason?

Possibly a problem with the board as the post to which you refer is still there, assuming that it's the badly written one at the bottom of page 1 of this thread. I'm always sorry when people experience problems, whether real or perceived, but it's also sad when they can't be bothered to use punctuation. I want to read all posts, but I want them written so that they are easy to read. Doesn't need to be perfect English, and we all make typing mistakes, but it's so much easier to read with proper sentences!

yes badly ritten not my fault im dyslexic and never went to school but that's a different story top and bottom is this club is becoming very cleety if the face fit then here you go u can purchase this part sir if not sorry not available every one is equal in this world
