would it be much trouble to pair up a 1000cc Morris engine to a reliant gearbox, I gather it would be a case of changing engine back plates and clutch or am I having wishful thinking thoughts lol. Any thoughts or advice will be useful, and if anyone has done this for what ever reason could you tell me if there where any problems.

what reliant gearbox are you thinking of,most were only 4 speed ,and used the type 9 ford box, some had overdrive but all in all, nothing to be gained, most scimitar owners convert to 5 speed.Unless you have a 5 speed box to go in. Anythings possible if you have the engineering facilities to make up a back plate. Clutch to adapt, and prop .

My thought was that if you can connect a reliant gearbox to a morris then the reliant engine X guzzi gearbox adapter plate I have will work on the morris engine as well in theory. I'm all for using british engines.

I would be more inclined to fit the entire Reliant engine and gearbox if you had it! Aluminium block and very much a popular conversion in an Austin 7 'sports' version.

2.8 or 3 litre,

think you might need an anchor as well as wolseley 9inch brakes

I think he means the Reliant Robin/Kitten 848cc alloy OHV engine and the Reliant Robin/Kitten 4 speed all synchro gearbox!
