Removing the Heater

I'd like to remove the factory (under the dash) heater from my 1967 MM 1000.
I don't use the heater in Arizona and it takes up a lot of room under the dash, above the parcel shelf.
I plan on adding a instrument gauge cluster (oil pressure, water temp and tachometer) under the dash
where the heater controls and box are currently located.
I see the two brackets on the back (firewall) side and the two screws mounting the heater to the underside of the dash panel.
Here's my question: If I disconnect the heater inlet hot water hose from the control valve on the cylinder head should I close the water circulation loop by reconnecting the outlet hose that is connected to the black metal pipe that comes from the radiator hose. I understand that closing the control value will stop the water flow into the heater. But what should I do with the hose that is connected to the metal pipe that comes from the radiator hose once I remove the heater?
Could you please reply and thanks very much!
