I am currently about to weld in my new boxing plate in my van cab, followed by the step sill etc to a new floor panel. the cab and back is still on the chassis.
I cannot locate the correct position for the B post, as the base had come away from the cross member. Both sides had previously been bogged, and were different widths from the transmission tunnel. Surely it would not have been built like this? I have a new cross member to go in, but i am reluctant to use this to give me the correct position
It appears as if it has moved inwards in service, and presumably failure leading to the bogged repairs. I guess this should be expected given that it received forces in this direction all its working life.
Should i position the post on what looks best for the door gaps?
Van sill replacement/b post position

Re: Van sill replacement/b post position
Yes! align the b post with the door. Mount the door and get the gaps right and b pillar in line, also make sure the door frame is fitted as they frame can get close to the roof and a pillar...
