Re chroming?

I have all the brightwork for our saloon which we plan on restoring but it is rather tarnished. Can it be re chromed or do you just buy new?
Alternatively is there a way of cleaning things up if they are corroded?

It depends on the finish your looking for, will it be an everyday car or show car, it will be cheaper to buy new but sometimes the new stuff tarnishes again within a year or two. Old stock chrome is making big money on ebay as lots of people are looking for it as it lasts so much better. Ive had a few things chromed for the lowlight as you just cant buy them any more. I would highly recommend Prestige Plating in Mexborough.
Turtle wax have an excellent cleaner for rusty chrome, autosol is good as it t-cut for really bad areas. Its worth spending some time on your old chrome to see what it cleans up like. The chrome is easy to change even if the car has been repainted as its all just bolt on.

Right, time for a quick go with the Autosol then!
Mog will be in regular use rather than sat in the garage so perhaps just keep cleaning it up!

After cleaning up - you must 'seal' it with thick wax polish - the good solid wax - not pour-on wax

If you heat the solid wax up you can then pour it on BMC...

SCF60 puts a nice protective coating on and stays on
