I have an MOT due for my "68 pick up and after not driving her for a month or so it appears I have no free play on the clutch. Got told to pump the pedal to see if there was any air trapped, which hasn't worked. Any ideas guys?

Clutch pedal is "mechanical " ...not hydraulic ..so no air in the system.Your helpful colleague has given you duff information, I'm afraid. Unless of course, the vehicle is non standard and has been converted some time in the past ?
The linkage on the side of the gearbox needs adjusting to give you the right amount of freeplay.
Do you have any Manuals available to you ....workshop, Haynes,etc ?
Free play should be 1 1/4 " at the pedal.When you're under there check out that all the linkage is OK and not worn / needs replacing.Is the clutch pedal free to move on the shaft.
As search on the forum for" Clutch adjustment " will give you some pointers.

You need to take the return spring off first, then the amount of free play will be obvious.

The pedals may have seized up - giving the impression of 'no play' - apply plenty of release oil - followed by 'real' oil..... Free play of 1 1/4" is far too much..... 3/4" is more like it. And even if the clutch is (or had been) hydraulic - the idea that pumping the pedal would get rid of air is ridiculous..... Avoid the bull sh!t advice in future........
