Correct wheel hub caps?

As some of you already know, I bought a March 1951 Series MM Hi-light, side-valve 2-door saloon in July. Whilst working on the brakes, it came to light that it has 2 different types of wheel hub caps - 3 of one type and 1 of another.
Below are photos of the 2 types (the one on the right is the odd-one-out)[frame]

Which type should it be? The side view of the car that has the mismatched caps is shown below[frame]

[/frame]And for you eagle-eyed spotters, the 2 telephone kiosks in the background are part of my collection ...
Regards, George.

Hi George
The ones going rust on the left are correct. The other is an odd one out found just to stick on 'temporarily' after the fourth one of the set ejected over a hedge. I stopped but never found it.
Regards
Tommy

Thanks for the info, Tommy, and I have just checked with a seller on eBay (selling 2 that looked like that) and his caps are 9" and I need 8.5"

The Series MM hubcaps are smaller than the M1000 hubcaps. From 1948-51 they were plain chrome, for a short time in 1951 they were painted and from 51 on they had the M motif

Hi Mike
Do you happen to know the approx build dates for painted hub caps on 1951 MM's? Mine is high headlight, in last few with a short bonnet, built 25/26 July 1951.
Thanks

I managed to find the info on the painted hub caps fitted in 1951 which puts my car in the block of chassis numbers fitted with them.
From March 1951 Car No. RHD#91076 LHD#89726:
A nickel shortage led to painted grille and hub caps being fitted.
Hub caps only were restored to chrome plated finish six months later. Approx car No. 114***
