I have been restoring a morris minor.. My custom paint job has come beautifully now I'm onto finishing touches..
I have been wanting to do a few bits on the engine to make run sweet and modify it slowly, I have a hs4 with kn airfilter going on with a m1 needle, but have been looking for a pertronix ignition system to update and improve the engine running, anyone know where I can find a unit with a good price.

I don't know about specific suppliers for the Peronix ignition but if you Google Aldon Automotive or Distributor doctor as there are a few diffrent electronic systems available for the minor.

I'll second that! Fitted Accuspark distributors to my traveller and to Series111 Land-Rover brilliant!

I'm guessing you may not be in UK if looking at Pertronix? Otherwise - as others suggest - the Accuspark ( or identical Simonbbc) systems seem to work well - although I just stick to good old points....

Hi no I'm from the uk birmingham in fact, iv heard of good reviews from the pertronix hence why I was on the hunt for it, just want to make the car more reliable and working more efficiently. Are there any members in the Birmingham area that I know if I run into any problems that I could take to who could help me out? Thanks for the replies

The best thing about it is the reduced maintenance.
The efficiency really comes from there being no points to go out of adjustment.

It makes NO 'efficiency' improvement. If you must - go for a complete new dizzy from Accuspark or Simonbbc. Nothing against the Pertronix btw - I have it on my TR7. But from your other posts I suspect you are not an electrician - so Keep It Simple.....

Are badly adjusted points efficient?

Of course not - but the remedy is easy.......

Haha your right I'm not that keen on electrics. I'm more of a body man if anything. Thanks for the advice guys really wish I had an expert on minors living next door to me.. I love to learn.

Hi Samir im soon to get a minor and also live in birmingham, its true you sure dont see many about the city, however have you looked at the branches? Theres sure to be lots of local members and i'll be becoming a member when ive got mine.

Oh and on the origional subject i'll also agree that the accuspark/simmon bbc system is very simple and effective(and real simple to fit), no great performance/efficiency increse but great if your after less maintenance ( also fitted to my old landrover).
