Hi

This weekend my son and I managed to successfully install the front windscreen and side windows to my 2 door saloon.

We gave up on the rear screen - It was just too difficult to get the screen and new rubber anywhere near close enough to the aperture! Has anyone got any experience and special tips for tackling this job please? I wondered about removing the under-window headlining trim piece perhaps?

I'd like to give it one more go before calling out the professionals (quote of £95) so any advice would be gratefully received,

The rear screen is fitted from inside the car. Were you trying that way, or from outside?

If you have some form of suction handle it is easier have your cord inside the rubber with a loop at the bottom. Then force a lower corner in one side. Pull on the suction handle to that side while your son pulls on the cord to pull the rubber over the flange.

took me 2 days and 2 new rubbers ,absolute pain in the head,in the end the Robert the Bruce method worked ,only two nicks in the rubber,………. "try try again"…………..Good Luck

hint do not use washing up liquid ,or other lubes,just makes the job impossible

Thanks for replies so far. My son was sitting inside pushing screen, I was using wd40 as a lubricant. Will try the suction handle and corner approach!
