Dip stick with a question

Hi all,
Is there any difference between the engine oil dip stick on a 1275 A+ engine and a 1098 ?

My car has a 1275 A+ with what I think may be a 1098 dipstick as it is very loose fitting.

The 1098 has a plastic tube guide for the dipstick but my 1275 doesn't and the diameter of

the dip stick hole in the block is smaller. Would a 1275 mini dipstick fit ok and be correctly

marked re oil level ?

I really don't know....if the Mini stick fits snuggly (but most Mini blocks have the plastic tube..) - then drain the oil, and refill with the correct quantity - and check what the reading shows on the stick.
