Traveller back door attacks dog!

Last week as I was preparing to go out our 10 year old labrador jumped into my traveller and squealed in pain. You might think she'd either landed badly or caught a trailing back leg in the bumper or on the tow bar.
No, she must have jumped up diagonally under the RH door, and the conically pointed end of the vertical closing mechanism poked a nasty hole in her right side, about 6 cms from the spine and forward of the hip.
Cue visit to the vet, two staples, a strong painkiller injected into the wound & antibiotics for a week.
You'd think she know better than to do that: she worked as a guide dog in Paris for 8 years dealing with all that entails in terms of obstacles. She'd never get on to a bus or the Metro other than in a straight line, hops neatly into the passenger foot well when asked.
