I have been offered an good running 1098cc (Austin) A4 engine to replace the knackered 948cc one in my 1956 4 door saloon. I heard it running before it was removed by a professional mechanic who had MOT'd my car when I got it back on the road. I now have the engine with no back plate and flywheel which I need to swap from my original engine. I have been told it's a straight swap. Is this the case and will the 948 clutch work OK as it was replaced recently.?
Many thanks for any advice

Re: On the Fly..... Wheel
Yes - as long as you swap over everything - backplate/flywheel/clutch. Of course the clutch is then on the small side for a 1098 - so treat it with care.....
