Water leak

Hi

I have just had my engine rebuilt with new pistons, rings, bearings and all gaskets. I battled to start the engine until I discovered that the timing was way out. There were a lot of bangs before starting.

On closer inspection I discovered that there is water coming out of the cylinder head bold above number two/three cylinder. What can be the cause of this?

Thanks

Check that the head has been torqued down!

I have tried that - did it myself to check it.

Loose stud in the block..... If you paid someone to do the job - tell them to put it right. If you assembled - with cold engine - slacken that one nut off - then double nut the stud and tighten it down into the block, and then release the double nutting (without moving the stud!) and then go round torquing down the head in th normal order - to 44 ft lbf. Don't forget to reset the valve gaps.
