We have let our National membership lapse, as I never seemed to be able to get the spares I needed when I need them - our car is our car, not a hobby.

Neither were many of the events within reasonable striking distance and we didn't join out of social need. If we go a long way it's either a jet or our modern Triumph Motorcycle. But it has been good getting the magazine and talking on the forum - if we may we shall remain on here.

This is not a criticism of the club, but an explanation as to why we aren't really club people. I know that can flummox people - why don't they want to join? Just to undermine that last statement, we have however joined the Barnsley MMOC, so that our insurers are happy (and another reason I'll get too). We usually attend local events on the old Triumph motorcycle and had seen the Barnsley people looking happy and presenting well. Sans Moggy, we thought it prudent not to interfere.

But then we got an invite to a local place of interest and went along. It added a new dimension that we enjoyed muchly. We are about to see how practicable this membership might be as we now have need of a welder - who lives nearby.

Long Live the MMOCC in whatever form, because our other reason for going native was having someone to leave our car too should we both be called away:) Yes, when it came to making a will we thought we'd have the car auctioned to raise funds for tiger conservation. But we are leaving just about everything else for that, so why not try to perpetuate something else worthy and notable? [frame]Image[/frame]
