Brake Drums - Wear Limits

I recently took a series of measurements of the brake drums using an internal micrometer and the average diameters of the 4 drums are as follows:

7.027”
7.077”
7.037”
7.036”

For some reason, the wear on the second drum is greater than the rest. What is the wear limits on brake drums? Would brake shoes with standard 0.2” thick linings work well on above drums?

I think you are over-worrying it.... Put the most worn on the rear. But - it will be well worth your while looking for a set of the later 8" front brakes - MUCH better, and easy bolt-on conversion.

I prefer to use the original 7" drums and I read on another thread that wear on drums up to 1/16" is acceptable. I note that the second drum has just exceeded this limit.

I agree with Roy, nothing to worry about. Drum brakes are hardly the most precise examples of engineering. Just adjust the shoes accordingly.
