Quarter light catch

Is it possible to replace the catches on the quarter lights? They have been damaged on both sides and I can't see how they can be replaced unless I'm missing something obvious! They are on a 1958 two door which I'm just starting to restore.Thanks in anticipation

You can sometimes get new chrome pins that the latches swivel upon.
So, you then take out the glass, change the broken latch for another and use a new pin, which I guess has to be peened over in some fashion. (Have never done that bit though!).
Then reinstate or re-set the glass, using modern black mastic..... Yes, a bit of work!

I've done it, not easy but not extremely hard either.
You do need to take out the glass, so you should have new rubber ready for reassembly.
The pin needs to be new, the tip of it is hollow so it can be opened with a cold chisel and that's what holds it in place. Get an extra pin in case you mess one up.
When the old pin is out you should use a small hammer to ensure the tab with the hole is straight.
Last thing, make ABSOLUTELY sure you're using the correct side catch and that it's correctly positioned, Once chiseled the pin cannot be removed without cutting it.
