Front chassis leg

My Traveller has just passed the MOT test BUT there is an advisory on a corroded hole in the front offside chassis leg close to the tie rod fixing bracket. Aren't sensible testers great? Maybe a legacy from leaking brake fluid of careless use of a jack in the past :-?
Rather than just have the affected part cropped out and a piece inserted, which has been done previously, I'm opting for renewal. Before I obtain a quote, has anyone who has had the job done on their car a rough idea of what this should cost?

Before I obtain a quote, has anyone who has had the job done on their car a rough idea of what this should cost?
I had one done at Minor Mania about 3 years ago and it cost £165 complete with new bushes and that was for a half leg as its normally only the front end that goes nothing else needed replacing if you give Nick a call he is happy to give a quote which of course he will say is subject to no other work needing to be done. I did not consider it a bad price considering London prices/rates.

Not in any imminent danger of collapse, hence an advisory :D
I'm sure it's possible to have another insert welded in but that will only delay the inevitable renewal for a few more months.

Yes but as its alongside the Tie Bar its not ideal as you say 57 and when i had it done on removal I was shown 2 other cracks that were not visable on the car.

I paid around £200 for a leg, tieplate and crossmember back in may, but you should be able to get it done for less.

The holes are a little bit further back than the tie rod Kevin and on the inside of the leg but in spite of that best to be on the safe side, don't want the suspension leg parting from the car on braking because there might be, as in your case, further hidden cracks and/or corrosion. :o
Thanks for the link Kevin but I'll probably try nearer to home.
From both your replies (thank you) it would seem that it should be less than £200 anyway. Just wanted a rough idea to be able to avoid anyone's silly prices. It's a few years since I had any work like that done so not up to date with current prices.
