Does anyone have a link that actually works - to download and/or to read online books for free? I've tried a few - and they either end up wanting credit card details, or they just don't work at all...... :(

Thanks Marky - been there before - a grim selection of the dullest books in the world I'm afraid.......

That's the problem then, you are talking about very few books as far as I can tell, James Hunt: The Biography.
Also Hunt for Glory: James Hunt's F1 Championship which you can buy the kindle edition for £1.89, maybe father Christmas will be generous :)

If you have a tablet, try Overdrive media console. It has access to lots of free books and I can access my library's ebooks with my library card. I'm in Trafford - I don't know what other LAs offer though.
