Mine has been to Scotland and back. Only problem was a union on the fuel pump worked loose, fuel leak near Newcastle on the way up, brass union nipped up sorted that one. Odd, was a new fuel pump.[frame]

I took the convertible up for a 2 week holiday to visit the folks and it rained every day!

Thats a long way! I've only been as far north as Bedford in mine... you know, where they make the Astra vans.. LOL
Was a horrible drive though, went M25/A1 and ended up taking 6 hours to get back in the pouring rain with the dog and misses for company.

I've re-padded the seats in mine so it is comfortable, even on a long journey. The only drawbacks are that it takes about 25% longer to get somewhere long distance at 55mph. 15 hour journey rather than 12. That is the difference between cruising at 70 MPH and 55 and the convertible does not have a stereo (yet!) Other than that I had people come up and ask about the car (when stopped!) on the way up and down. And when I stopped to sort the slight fuel leak somebody stopped to help!
There are still nice people in the world, it seems.

I'd love a convertible. Id be doing these things 'for the journey'. Stopping in villages along the way, eating scones* .. just being British for a bit.
