hi i have some more questions on upgraded parts and fitting
ive been researching engines and it seems that im torn between a ford fwd engine or with less hassle a ca18det engine as ive owned and worked with ca18det for over 6 years it seems the better option but i do like abit off ford power too so my question is the ford type 9 gearbox is my favourite choice off gearbox but what choice off ford engine are there that fit the type 9 with out too much modification.
also ive been looking into the rear diff conversions and so there ive come across a mgb gt rear axel local or a mrk2 escort one but im going to be aiming for 240 - 270 bhp so strenth is a must . so is there any other option on a rear set up from other cars that you have used and can i hear your verdicts
also is it possible to use the front beam cross menber, shock, discs etc from a mgb
thanks

Re: few questions on upgrading parts
Pretty much all 4 cyls car engines have the same bolt pattern for the gearbox...
The silver top zetec bolts straight up to the zetec and with suitable management can give 230 - 250hp. You can also fit V6 engines to the type 9 with a suitable bellhousing (I have a spare alloy one for a cologne engine) but you would normally need the long input shaft version of the gearbox (V6, diesel and Transit).

Re: few questions on upgrading parts
so am i right in thinking if i were to buy say a ford escort rs2000 from the 93era i would need the belhousing to bolt to the type 9 box so thats pretty much plug and plug
what about engine mounts i take it that i will have to have some made to fit, electrics are not a problem as i can rebuild looms thats all pretty simple
and the prop what do i use on the type 9
thanks
