Surprised that hasn't been done more regularly what with people trying to cover bad wood etc. The wood would last forever under a good coat of primer/paint. I sort of like it! (blasphemy they cry!)

Not sure if I do or not but from what I can see when the pictures are blown up they don't seem to have done a bad job of the body work......
However you'd need to see it close up and I'd would be nervous of painted wood, as has been said, it can cover a multitude of sins....... and I think I can see an area that looks like it might have been filled in the back door shot, up top by the gutter line on the passenger side....

Then the true test will be the buying public who will vote with their feet or their wallets

Apart from the bodgery aspect it's hidden the charm and character of a Traveller.

I quite like it, if the wood was in decent condition before it was painted then fair enough, a decent idea.

I believe a very suitable Americanism may be "you cant judge the wood by looking at the paint"
Find the bl**dy Nitromors quickly
Why is there a washing up liquid bottle in the engine bay?
