We're in the process of renewing the cab floor and sills in our Morris Minor van Roxie... Can anyone advise as to whether the outer sill should be welded on or screwed and bolted on.
Also once the sill is on there will be a gap left at each end, does anyone know how this should be finished off.....
Would appreciate any input thanks Ken..

Hi do you mean this part , the sill finisher that lines up with the door?

or the kick plate that covers everything to tidy it up

Both these bits are just bolted onto the sill and there are gaps at each end of the kick plate usually only a few mm.

Here is a cross section of the sill assembly, I should think it will be similar on the van.

if you're talking about the gap each end of the kick plate, it's a good idea to seal the gap with a thin seam of black mastic, it helps keep water out.

Sealed cills removed after 11 years, not too much moisture I'd say

--and further in waxoyl still there.
